Taken during a time when tourist numbers in the Masaai Mara were extremely few due to Covid-19, at only one week old it is highly probable that we were the first tourist vehicle this baby giraffe had ever seen. The endearing curiosity was a joy to watch as he edged closer towards us. By positioning myself with a long lens as low in the grass as possible I was able to frame the young giraffe against the Mara skyline.
