I regard the Buffalo as one of the harder African species to photograph well. Delivering an image which represents the animals character yet has a level of aesthetics enough to be worthy of print is difficult. Fortunately with a momentary pause this mud caked individual looked in my direction with the simplicity of the Masaai Mara backdrop behind. On reviewing this photograph I was left with some confidence that it would take me a considerable amount of time to improve on this result.
