At less than a month old, this young elephant never strayed too far away from its mother. The bond is strong between the two with males staying by their mothers side for up to 14 years of ages whilst females remain within the herd for their lifetime. I have attempted similar compositions in the past but each photograph resulted in a significant flaw with the young elephant becoming too obscured by the mothers legs. On this occasion the baby paused briefly in the middle of the mothers stride which created the perfect textured frame.
